News Update
It is with bittersweetness that I have to post the latest on what is going on with our adoption. Chris and I have made the decision to change adoption agencies at this point. This decision has certainly not been easy and has been made with much prayer, thought, and discussion. We feel that this is necessary at this point and are very much at peace with this choice. I am sad because I am leaving the place in which I started this process. However, I am so very very grateful for all of the wonderful friends that I have made. I would not know the people I know now. I am close to people that would have never been a part of my life if I had not started our adventure with America World. I am so very appreciative of those as well who have helped us make this decision. I emailed and talked to several people, those people truly helped us to have confirmation that what we were doing was right. No one could tell us what to do but just the kindness that poured out while we were in this time of heartache was amazing. Thank you to all of you that I talked to in some form or another. I also want to say that very unexpectedly we recieved a call from Chris' aunt. She has an adopted son from Guatamala who is now 16. The most powerful thing that she said to me was that even though this whole process seems incredibly difficult, and it is no doubt, but that the most challenging part of it all is raising your children. We tend to forget that once all of this is over and our children are here with us that we still have to raise them to love God and be respectable adults. How true this is.

Praying for you both. There WILL be exciting times ahead! I agree with the statement that the challenge continues past the adoption process but the Lord gives guidance and wisdom all along the way! It WILL all be worth it in the end! As I said before, I admire your desire to adopt!
I am glad that you have made a decision & that you have peace about it.
You will be in good hands!!!!

Hi, greetings from Austin. I'm not sure how I found your blog, but I'm glad I did. I returned in May with my 9 month old son from Petropavlovsk. When I read your post, it took me down memory lane. I, too, changed agencies during my Kaz adoption. It was stressful and emotional week for me. Imagine my feelings when I learned that my son was born during the week that I changed agencies. Had I not changed agencies, I wouldn't have met him and he wouldn't be peacefully sleeping in the room next to me. I wish you the best, and hope you know that there are a lot of folks pulling for you. Best regards, Susan from Austin smooretexan@yahoo.com; smooretexan@gmail.com
