We finally got a reply email today - which I guess was good since Chris had planned to visit the adoption USCIS office today. It said "unfortunately we do no expedite paperwork". Well that is fine because that is NOT what I asked them to do!!!!! I simply asked what our status was since last year they lost our "golden" paper. Oh well. I have decided to give it a rest for a little while. My fingerprints officially expire today and Chris' on March 5th. I guess it is ok since we have new prints, just not a new I797. I'm tired of thinking about it so I have decided to concentrate on other things for now :)
Please pray that God will rest his hands upon our paperwork and that it will all come in a timely manner.

several times along the way to your child you are going to have to take a mental health break. The good news is this skill will come in handy later on when you are parenting:)
The above comment is very wise! Praying that you get the paperwork needed as fast as possible. Stay on them like I know you are. It's a shame to have to fight for this right now but it will all be so worth it soon!
I hope you get your new I-797 soon. I know you're frustrated. Hang in there!
