We are combining day 5 and 6 today. Internet was too slow in our apartment to work last night. There are peak hours when everyone is on and it won't work. We have had lots of questions about our children's names' so since our blog is private we have decided to share a little more information. They were named by the baby house : Arina (girl) and Arsenii (boy). We decided we would like to change their names, this is of course only official once the adoption is complete. We will call Arina, Adler Lynn and Arsenii, Aidan Grey. Adler is a family name, my grandmother's maiden name and Lynn is my middle name as well as Chris' father's middle name. Grey is a family name on Chris' side, his mother's middle name as well as his grandfather's. We found that it has been a little bit more difficult than we thought to start calling them their new names since they know their names so well. We have started to call them both names, Arsenii Aidan and Arina Adler. Aidan thinks this is funny and he will repeat his name over and over. Adler has a little more difficult time actually pronouncing hers but she is trying :)
We are very close to the baby house and in fact, yesterday Chris and Mike (our travel partners) walked through the park to the house. It only took them 13 minutes. They were quite proud! Driving it takes about 10 minutes because you have to go around the park.
It is cold here today (Saturday) and raining (about 50 degrees). However, the weather has been very nice up until today. We are extremely grateful and blessed for that. Those of you who know me know that I don't do cold weather very well and snow....well forget it - not big on snow unless it gets us out of school for a day :)

The name thing will get easier once you are home.
We walked home from the baby house thru the park one Sunday after our visit. It was nice! I bet it is even nicer now that the weather is warmer!!!!!!
The slow internet & the Russian TV were the hardest parts of being in Karaganda. Have you watched Hannah Montana yet in English?????
Joby wants to look at your blog every night when he comes home to see the pictures of the twins. It is so funny since he never looks at the blogs!!!!!
Love the names you have chosen. I have a nephew named Gray! Adler & Aidan are precious. Love their smiles! And yours!
Hey, my middle name is Lynn, too! I love their names.
It's so fun to check your blog everyday and see such happy kiddoes -- and such happy parents.
Wishing you the best, Susan from Austin
Jessica and Chris, I am enjoying following your visits at the baby house. It seems to be going by so quickly and you all seem to be so happy. We are happy for you! Did I ever tell you I am a twin. I have an identical twin sister. I highly recommend it :)
The names you have chosen are just beautiful. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Janie
awesome... as you know I love the names.. :-)
they are adorable... and the pics are so sweet... they are precious!!
What wonderful new names! The kids are blossoming day by day in your photos - y'all look more like family every day :)
I met them as Arsenii and Arina, so I see what you mean re: it being a little difficult to call them something else. But, your new names are beautiful and have meaning too - what a wonderful way to embrace them as part of the family heritage.
It is fun to see them both looking even more animated than before - the parental attention is clearly doing them good!
Adler and Aiden will learn their names very quickly. At only 8 months home, our daughter (adopted at 3 years 9 months) had forgotten her Russian name (and that is all she wanted to use for the first 2 months home). Amazing how quickly they learn English and forget their Russian!
