We are home!!! We had quite a long day of travel but finally made it home at midnight on Thursday. We ended up having to fly from Almaty to Turkey to New York to Atlanta. The very nice people at the JFK airport in NY let us fly standby to Atlanta which put us home about 3 hours earlier than planned. We were delayed but would have been even later if we had stayed on our original flight. The kids did great on our first and last plane rides but had a more difficult time on our long flight from Istanbol to New York. Overall it was fine and we only got one or two mean looks and no negative comments :)
Adler and Aidan love their own bedrooms. They recognized them right away and really seemed to take the entire transition very well. They came home to a wonderful playground built by Pops! They played on it all day today. It is perfect!
The animals are very scary. Even the kitties who would prefer to not be around are very scary to them. I'm not sure why the cats are that different from our favorite babyhouse kitty unless there is just the association with the dogs. Our dogs are of course excited to see us and the kids and just want to lick and be petted. With time I am sure it will get better.
Thank you to everyone who followed our journey! We will continue to keep up with the blog as much as possible!

When my brother came home from China with his daughters they were afraid of the dogs too. My brother had them toss treats to them, and by day 3 they were giving them treats and loving them!

Wonderful that you made it through the tough trip home, to find such a wonderful greeting with the signs and play set at your house. That is great! Lera was afraid of our dog Copper too, it took her about 4 days to warm up. Now seeing him is the highlight of her day, it seems! All the best to you, do post some updates as it is fun to hear about these exciting times. Good luck with the jet lag...and sleeping too!
