Just kidding, it isn’t really snowing here but it sure does look like it. There is this stuff that looks like cotton that comes from the local trees. It falls in June and it comes down like snow, very constant and everywhere. It flies into your mouth, nose, and eyes……it is quite beautiful but after about an hour of it you’re finished with it. Many people here have allergies from it. I guess it could be like our pollen at home except that you don’t really see the pollen falling. We are expecting rain tomorrow and everyone is ready for it to wash this “cotton” away.
Chris and I continue to do very well. The kids are having a blast too. Yesterday we went on a walk out of the baby house with their class and the caregivers. It was a lot of fun and everyone had a really good time. We walked left out of the gates, past the school, and left again back into the park located behind the school for the visually impaired. Everyone enjoyed themselves, especially the kids. They ran around and picked dandelions. We also got to see something that NO ONE would ever see in the US. It made us really appreciate all that we have. At the school for the visually impaired there were three lady workers who were cutting the grass with a small sickle. It was small and curved, not one with a long handle. They would grab a handful of grass and cut it off low to the ground and then put it into a pile. We noticed this the other day at the local park but the men were using long handled ones. There were other workers planting flowers while a man pushed around a wheelbarrow we would describe as a flat cart with iron wheels, very antique looking.

Pops – we sure wish it didn’t cost a lot to ship a lawnmower or weedeater over here! According to Oxana a very cheap mower cost at least $600 US dollars and most people cannot afford one.
They are still painting at the baby house. They have now moved to our two favorite spots where the tire swings, seesaw, slides, and baby swings are located. The “mysterious” paint takes forever to dry and we have had to wash it out of our clothes at least 6-8 times already!

Makes my back hurt just thinking about cutting grass with a sickle. What we consider a necessity would be a luxory over there.
So glad you are still enjoying your time and having so much fun with the kids. I think one of the biggest blessings of being in country for so long is that you truly get to experience the culture, food, and people. We took 3 trips, so ours were all fairly short (10-14 days).
