Day 29

It really does clinch your heart when you see the caregivers dump out a basket of toys that are all broken. The kids run to them as though it were a pinata filled with candy. However, it is also heart wrenching when the children run up to each other and ask to trade their toy for someone else's. They get excited all over again, even though they have seen these toys for months and months.

This picture makes me cry. All these boys and girls deserve a forever family. This is the oldest group in the baby house. They will all go to the orphange by the time they turn four.

We have so much to be thankful for. Thank you to all of you sending prays our way. We have had some stressful days but our life is easy compared to the children who will live without a mom and dad.

We thought we would give you an idea of our children’s schedule and how our day goes. Our children’s schedule is as follows:
7am wake up
8am breakfast
10am snack
10-12 visits
12pm lunch
1-3:30 nap
3:30 snack
4-6pm visits
6-7pm potty and bath time
7pm dinner
8pm bedtime

We do get to visit on the weekends, except only one visit in the morning on Sundays. Chris and I get up, go the baby house then either go out for lunch or go back to the apartment. Sometimes we will go shopping for groceries or souvenirs. We usually sneak in a nap and then go back to the baby house from 4-6pm. Then it is time to either make dinner or go out. We come home and check email and the blog. Sometimes we watch a couple episodes of Friends depending on the time. Then bedtime for us.

Ah, another children at the fence photo. Makes me sad too! Praying they find families too just as your precious children did! You really are having a good experience overall huh? So happy for you!

I am glad you're feeling better.

While in Kaz, I also missed home (cats and Mexican food, too), but it was so nice to have time to devote to Roxana (even though for only 1.5 hours a day) and John without the usual worries of daily life. Our time spent in Kaz was relatively care-free (with a few exceptions), and though we were so ready to come home after two months there, it was pretty nice.

I often think of the little girl in Roxana's room who will likely never be adopted because she has fetal alcohol syndrome and the other kids we encountered whose fate is unknown. So sad.
