So the funny story is that Chris and I left the babyhouse at 12 and went to the green market. It is like a flea market with lots of vendors and lots of stuff. Our translator thought that we would not find one thing here that we would like. Well, she certainly was wrong :) We bought bell peppers, cherries, cheese grater, back pack, stroller, and a Kazakhstan shirt. All were very cheap too! Ok, so for the funny part – we rode the bus back to our apartment only to find out that I had left the keys to the apartment at the baby house. So, what’s one to do without a cellphone, no transportation, and no Russian lingo to use in conversation with a stranger……take a look at what Chris did with his hour and 45 minutes of free time.

Ok, so now onto name that plant. Can anyone who has not been to Kaz in the spring name this plant? Yep, looks like poison ivy to me too. Chris and I are deathly allergic to it. The first two days at the baby house we would move the kids away from it and not let them near. But, no fear……this is a tree here and not toxic. Who woulda knew???

So today we found out what happens when a two year old goes down the slide head first when mama is not watching……the end result: a mouth full of dirt, scraps to the nose and mouth, and a lot of crying. Adler wanted her papa and cried for him to kiss it better. She actually handled it very well but I sure feel terrible and it looks really bad too. Thank goodness we already had the passport pictures taken. By the way the caregivers said “it will all go away before she gets married” – sound familiar?

That last picture of Adler is so cute. Sorry she got hurt but it is precious! Sounds like you are having many adventures to help pass the time. Is your bed just the box springs? I hated that in the hotel in Almaty! Your apartment looks great! Glad it is comfy for you.
Aren't the caregivers great? Kobe got a boo boo while bonding & they were like yep that's normal :)
I bet that is one story ya'll will remember about Kaz. At the time, I am sure it wasn't as funny as what it will be later.
Adler still looks cute even with her boo boo!!!!!!
I love the comment about it going away before she gets married. I will have to use that onesince Nina seems to take a tumble every other day. Adler looks more adoarable than ever. She has such a pretty smile despite the boo boo.
Daddy sleeping on the park bench-thats funny!
If you get a chance, could you get a picture of Oxana & Julia for me???
Who is your interpreter?
So cute- even with a boo boo nose!!! I love the nap on the park bench with your pile of loot..lol. Greg would do the same exact thing!!
Take care!
Adler is precious!! wow!! Love the nose... and the comment about it going away.. hilarous!!!!
Chris... love the park bench sleeping.. way to make the best of any situation.. :-)
My aborist named that plant as poision ivy too. He wants you to bring a clipping back! Ha Ha Ha. He is always looking for new things to learn about.
Glad everything is going well. You are all in our prayers.
What fun memories and how endearing that she cried for Papa. Little girls (and big ones) do need their "papa".
All our love.
Jessica, Adler looks just like the baby pictures of you!! (I am thinking of one of you with curlers in your hair) They both seem so full of spunk! Do either of you have an iphone? There is an application for a translator on there...do you carry a pocket dictionary? I'm loving these updates!
The boo boo is kinda cute (sorry she had to go through the pain of the accident). Glad you are enjoying your time and finding ways to rest/entertain yourselves!
